Manufacturing

You cannot prevent downtime with data you see after the line stops.

Plant data sits in systems that were never meant to talk to each other. We connect it, govern it and put models on it that warn the floor in time to act.

A prediction the shift cannot act on is a report, not a safeguard.

Where you are

Your plants run, the ERP is in place, and sensors are already on the critical equipment. Their data rarely reaches anyone in time.

Late visibility

The plant reports after the event.

Execution and historian systems tell you what happened once the shift is over, and the first sign of failure is the stoppage itself.

What waiting costs: lost shifts, scrap and rework you first see in the month-end report.

Exposure at the plant boundary

Every new link to the floor is a door.

Connecting plant systems to the enterprise and the cloud widens the attack surface of equipment that was never designed for it, and ISA/IEC 62443 and NIST guidance on OT security set the bar your security lead will hold you to.

What waiting costs: the connection you need is the one your security lead cannot approve.

Models the floor does not trust

One false alarm costs the next real one.

A prediction operators cannot question gets ignored, and alarm fatigue is a known failure mode on any plant floor.

What waiting costs: a model that is right and switched off.

Rulebook by market

MarketWhat supervisors are looking atWhat it means for an agent
United StatesNIST SP 800-82 guidance on operational technology security, ISA/IEC 62443 for industrial automation and control systems, and CISA guidance for the critical manufacturing sector. For plants handling highly hazardous chemicals, OSHA process safety management, including management of change.A model reads from the plant and does not write to control systems without a person. Every link between plant and enterprise is owned and approved. A change to how the process runs goes through your management of change.
IndiaThe Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 for worker and customer data, and CERT-In directions on incident reporting.Personal data used by a model has a recorded purpose, and incidents can be reported from the log.
EuropeThe NIS2 Directive, which brings many manufacturers into cybersecurity risk management and incident reporting, and the EU Machinery Regulation for machines with AI-driven safety functions.Plant-to-cloud links sit in the cyber risk register, and any model that touches a safety function is assessed before it runs.
Other marketsEach market has its own industrial safety and cyber rules. We confirm the local rulebook at the start of every engagement.

What is in the way

The data exists in the plant and the enterprise, but nothing moves it between them fast enough, and nothing explains what a model concluded. Execution, ERP, historian and quality systems are linked point to point, each link a fragile single point of failure.

How long after a machine starts to fail does someone who can stop it find out?

The same trace, with and without a warning

Illustrative example. The value of a prediction is the time it buys the shift.

How we clear it

We get one critical asset's data off the line and onto a governed platform first, then put a model on it the shift can question.

  1. 01

Governed APIs between plant and enterprise.

Apigee between execution, ERP, quality and maintenance systems, with one owner and one policy for each connection, and the plant network behind a boundary your OT security lead approves.

You hold: an interface inventory your OT security lead has signed.

    Apigee and APIs
  2. 02

Line data where models can use it.

Sensor and machine events carried as event streams on Google Cloud into BigQuery, from one line first, with the control network untouched.

You hold: live readings for one critical asset on one governed platform.

    Vertex AI, BigQuery and data
  3. 03

    Models with reasons.

Predictive and quality models on Vertex AI that show operators why they fired and let them override, with every override recorded.

You hold: one model in production on one line, with its warnings, reasons and overrides logged.

Easy to start

Start with one workflow, not a program.

You

Choose one workflow, name one owner, and give us time with the people who sign it off.

Us

We bring engineers and the gateway design, we work inside your environment under your security rules, and we write the review pack alongside the build.

A good first workflow is one critical asset on one line. See the fixed-price ways to start.

What the work feels like

What the first month looks like from your side.

  1. The first week

One workflow is chosen and one person owns it. The questions your reviewers will ask are written down before any build starts. Your maintenance lead reviews the model's first warnings, with the readings behind them, before any alert reaches the floor.

  2. The first sprint

Governance goes in before the first agent does: the gateway, the audit trail and the access rules. Your risk team sees them working.

  3. Every week

A working demo you can show your own review board, not a status slide.

  4. The sign-off

A decision log that can rebuild any action, and a go-live date that was agreed at the start.

Production readiness check

Test one workflow against the five questions.

A short readiness check on a live or planned agent workflow. You get a score and the principles worth another look.

Questions we are asked before the first conversation

Do we have to replace our MES or historian?

No. We read from the systems you run today and add a governed layer between them and the enterprise. The plant keeps running on what it knows.

Will a model ever stop a machine on its own?

Not unless you decide it should. By default the model warns and a person decides; any automated action you approve has limits, is logged and goes through your management of change.

How do you keep the plant network safe when data leaves it?

Data leaves through one approved boundary, in one direction, with the plant and enterprise zones kept apart in the way ISA/IEC 62443 describes. Your OT security lead approves the path before any data moves.

Which equipment should we start with?

The asset that stops your line most often and already has sensors on it. One asset gives the shift a working warning quickly and gives you a model you can measure.

Can you work across plants with different systems?

Yes. Each plant keeps its own systems, and one governed API and data layer sits above them, so a model built on one line can be reused on the next.
